Frost Death Knight Class Overview
Welcome to my Frost Death Knight DPS guide for World of Warcraft WotLK 3.3.5a. This will be a short guide describing what Talents, Glyphs, Gems and Enchants you will need in order to succeed in a raid. In the end of the guide there are also some tips and basic rotation for the class.
Death Knight is a unique class with its energy system and a lot of people think that one of the strongest classes in Wrath of the Lich King. Every spec is different from another, which makes the gameplay more interesting. Here we’re going to take a look at Frost Death Knight as a damage dealer.
This is an optimal build for players with medium to high gear.
I’d like to write about these 4 talents below, because they are taken not fully sometimes. Depending on the situation, gear, encounter and raid you might want to tweak them a bit from optimization of your build
Subversion – small DPS increase and a nice Treat decrease. Useful if you don’t have a Paladin with Hand of Salvation in your raid.
Black Ice – is taken minimum 2/5 as a go-trough talent. Note that, this talent has synergy with Strength, not Armor Penetration.
Killing Machine – is taken either way. The efficiency of this talent is inversely to the amount of Critical Strike chance. The less crit you have, the more useful this talent is.
Blood-Caked Blade – a nice dps boost. Works best with Armor Penetration, the more you have it – the more damage it will deal.
Glyph of Pestilence – be careful with this, as you may pull something extra with it. Use with care.
Gems are used to get your stat caps depending on what you lack, so it is situational. If the bonus is less, than 4 Strength, then you can add whatever gems you like. Don’t forget that you can add some other stats if needed, like Hit with Rigid Stormjewel.
Nightmare Tear to activate the meta socket, afterwards just fill with red ones.
