Blood Death Knight Class Overview
Welcome to my Blood Death Knight DPS guide for World of Warcraft WotLK 3.3.5a. This will be a short guide describing what Talents, Glyphs, Gems and Enchants you will need in order to succeed in a raid. In the end of the guide there are also some tips and basic rotation for the class.
Death Knight is a unique class with its energy system and a lot of people think that one of the strongest classes in Wrath of the Lich King. Every spec is different from another, which makes the gameplay more interesting. Here we’re going to take a look at Blood Death Knight as a damage dealer.
A standard Blood DK build. Has a big potential with 90% Armor Penetration, but isn’t that good with low gear. Morbidity is 2/3 only because we don’t have another talent point.
Glyph of Pestilence – be careful with this, as you may pull something extra with it. Use with care.
Gems are used to get your stat caps depending on what you lack, so it is situational. If the bonus is less, than 4 Strength, then you can add whatever gems you like. Don’t forget that you can add some other stats if needed, like Hit with Rigid Stormjewel.
Nightmare Tear – Use on to activate the Meta Gem. Fill rest with Red gems.
Head – Arcanum of Torment
Shoulder – Greater Inscription of the Axe
Cloak – Greater Speed or Major Agility
Chest – Powerful Stats
Bracers – Greater Assault
Gloves – Crusher
Waist – Eternal Belt Buckle with Bold Cardinal Ruby
Legs – Icescale Leg Armor
Boots –Tuskarr's Vitality or Greater Assault
Weapon – Rune of the Fallen Crusader
Gameplay & Rotations
Your stat priority is: Hit → Expertise → Armor Penetration → Strength → Critical → Agility → Haste → Attack Power
You need 8% of Hit Rating.
Simple opener and rotation:
Diseases are refreshed with your Pestilence thanks to our Glyphs. Unfortunately, Blood Death Knight doesn’t shine until he has 90% Armor Penetration (+10% Talents).
Army of the Dead – Is used few seconds before the encounter, or when changing phase. Using it in while doing your combo will cause a DPS loss and a combo break. The summons copy your Hit, Attack Power and Haste at the moment of summoning – remember that.
Hysteria – is used on cooldown on the top DPS of the raid.
